SOUTHEAST MIDDLE SCHOOL

1. Please consider donating to the Arts Council. The deadline has been extended to the first week of March. As of today, only 7 staff members have donated and SEMS is only at 27% of our goal - let's raise that number! To donate, please go to the WSFCS website and click on the link at the top for the Arts Council. There are great incentives this year, especially the trip to Disney World including spending money! If you give $10 or more, you are automatically entered into this drawing. Please see Mrs. Ring or Ms. Young if you have any questions.
2. We will have the statewide Tornado Drill on Wednesday, March 5, at 9:30am. 6th grade: Please HOLD your 6th grade students and do not send them to encore classes. We will direct you to send them after the drill has concluded. All movement will be by announcement.
3. Thanks to the Guidance Office for their hard work during 8th grade registration. Please know that they will continue to work on 8th registration over the next several weeks and then transition to the 6th and 7th grade registration process. Thank you to all staff volunteers who have stepped in this week to cover Sandy's absence. You are amazing people!
4. We are working on a substitute to fill in for Sandy in the Guidance Office. If you have any activity bus questions or if you need to request a bus, please contact Gentry in writing.
5. Homebase teachers: Please recognize and celebrate your All A and Honor Roll (all A's and B's) students in your classrooms/team. Please assure your All A's students that we are planning another All A event for Friday, March 7.
6. Please consult the WSFCS email from last week regarding snow make up days. Student make-up days and teacher workdays are two separate make-ups. We will discuss more at Monday's staff meeting.
7. We have a staff meeting scheduled for Monday. Topics include: Snow days, another professional development opportunity, next school year, etc.
8. Attention beginning teachers: You should be working with your STAY coach on completing your Common Core online moodle. If you need assistance with this, please contact your STAY coach. The online moodle is part of your STAY requirement.
9. Since last week's progress reports were very minimal in number of tasks, I highly recommend that teachers send out another paper progress report by mid-March. This will help to ensure that all parents and students are aware of where they stand academically.
